The wafting smells of popcorn and nacho cheese—the creak and groan of cold metal beneath your feet—the band tuning their instruments—a medley of black and orange—the dull roar of anticipation in the stands. Something is in the air. It must be TIGER PRIDE!!

Welcome to athletics season in Tiger Country!

As part of our commitment to developing success in every student, Capitan Middle School is proud to provide meaningful extra-curricular activities that establish pride, self-discipline, sportsmanship, team building, and responsibility within its students. We offer organized sports teams for boys and girls.

Pursuing Victory with Honor

We expect all participants in Tiger athletics to show good sportsmanship and character in accordance with New Mexico Activities Association’s program “pursuing victory with honor.”

We expect our students, coaches, referees, and fans to conduct themselves with:

Eligibility Requirements

Student athletes must meet all eligibility requirements of the NMAA including grade point averages, attendance, and physicals. Some coaches may have additional requirements for their athletes. Please follow all of the requirements, and enjoy showing that Tiger Pride!

• Physicals and Emergency Contacts
  • You must complete and sign these forms before you can participate. We also require current insurance information for each athlete.
• Attendance
  • Attendance is critical to developing responsibility and team work. Any athlete who has missed three practices or one game without the coach’s approval is subject to removal.
• Participation
  • Once a students makes a commitment to a sport, we encourage our athletes to stick with that sport. If a student should decide to quit without coach approval, he or she may not participate in another sport during that season. He/she will also incur a 69% (D) for athletics during that grading period.
